At what age did you wean your baby?

There is much controversy over the correct age into which to wean your baby. Is 6 months too long? Let us know how old your baby was when you started weaning.

i weaned my baby at just over 4 months and she loved it, i did baby led weaning but we started off with the simple tatses such as porridge or fruit porridge and slowly but surely she weaned herself and was fully weaned by around 8 months, by then she wanted to feed herself and wouldnt let us feed her as shes very independant. i used all my own food and blended the meals for her, she used to love the vegetables that we had with our sunday dinner so id make a big batch and freeze them for later, im sure the food lasts upto 1 month in the freezer but only 24 hours in the fridge.
i dont believe that every baby can wait till 6 months to be weaned, i think some babies need it before and some babies can wait longer, it all depends on the baby!
